California: Los Angeles - Griffith Park

We stopped to see the observatory and Hollywood sign. Soon, we'll be off to UCLA!

California: San Francisco & Silicon Valley

We left San Fran this morning by way of some monster in-town hilly streets, and coasted down to Palo Alto, where we made quick stops at the headquarters of Facebook and Apple. We're off to Los Angeles!

California: San Francisco

We had some sourdough bread and tasty chocolate while visiting Coit Tower and Fisherman's Wharf. Yar!

California: Redwoods

We spent the night among the immense Redwood groves. Now we tuen south to San Francisco!

California: Pacific Ocean

We made it to CA! After a walk on the first beach we could find, we set off to spend the night among the Redwoods!

Oregon: Portland

We made it to Portland and are staying with a friend of Robin's. The downtown area was charming, and we arrived right in the middle of fleet week and the rose festival! There are so many bearded crazy people here!

Oregon: Multnomah Falls

One of the tallest waterfalls in America, Multnomah Falls gave us a great workout (and a wet welcome) as we hiked to the top.

Washington: Mount Saint Helens Area

We spent the night in the woods by Mount Saint Helens. The walks were thick with building-tall conifers and lily-saturated wetlands.

Seattle

Seattle was a terrific place. Everyone was friendly, the coffee and cheese curds were tasty, and the sun even came out!

We saw the flying fish, police officers on horseback, and ate enough to keep even the hungriest of us satiated for probably close to an hour at least.

Washington: Sun Lakes State Park

This is a dried up waterfall that was, in days of yore, four times the size of Niagara Falls. Today, it's a windswept canyon with some terrific trails and 40mph winds. Sublimity.

Montana into Idaho

We crossed into Idaho just about an hour ago. We've stopped over in Coeur d'Alene to check out the town and visit the city beach, right on the lake. Then, it's off to Washington!
